Boo Johnson is a professional skateboarder for DGK, Grizzly Grip Tape, Diamond Supply Co, Ethika, Remind Insoles, Bones Wheels, Thrasher Mag, Weedmaps, and Raw Papers. On top of that he owns Pharmacy skate shop in Long Beach, California and runs his own clothing brand Just Have Fun.
Reed Stark knew Boo in the past and showed him kendama at Coachella 2017, but not everyone falls in love with the toy immediately. At the 2018 X Games in Minneapolis, Reed taught him how to do an earthturn and it was over. The sheer joy that Boo had at that moment proved to Reed and everyone else at Sweets that he would be a great candidate for a signature kendama.
"Boo is a pro-lifer and it shows. The amount of positivity and motivation he brings to the world is unmatched by anyone I’ve ever met. Constantly thinking about the well being of others can be overwhelming, but not for Boo. He’s a beaming light people strive to be and the man earned it all by himself." -Reed Stark

THE BOOST SHAPE:
The Decade Mod was the first Sweets Kendama to introduce a new shape in years. The extreme playability of this new design meant they just had to make other Sweets products in the BOOST shape. The BOOST is pretty much a PRIME on steroids. The cups are slightly bigger, stalls more pronounced, and there is a balance bevel in the bottom cup to make lunars slap with ease. Unlike the original Decade shape, BOO BOOST Kens are not made with laminated layers of wood but a solid piece of beech.
BOOST tamas are also slightly larger to help improve play and match the bigger cups.
Featured on the small cup, the QR code helps with tracking and is also the key to accessing content.
Use the camera on your phone to scan directly to Boo Johnson’s page on the Sweets Kendama site.
This code is incredibly useful when showing someone kendama for the first time; all they have to do is open their camera to learn more and take that info with them!
Boo Johnson is showing the world kendama, and a portion of each Signature Mod sold goes directly to Boo.
